Land Niederösterreich

With around 50,000 singers, Lower Austria has a great potential of people who dedicate themselves to singing in choirs in their free time - be it at church, at school or at other cultural events. The total of 1,400 choirs, 145 of which are children's and youth choirs, therefore contribute a significant and important part of our cultural work.

The “Gumpoldskirchner Spatzen” are one of the most distinguished and well-known children’s choirs – both nationally and internationally. This is demonstrated not least by the current tour “Suonare in Terrasanta”. With worldwide appearances like this, they ensure that Lower Austria becomes an international name. And they help to make Lower Austria’s profile even more distinctive around the world. The “Gumpoldskirchner Spatzen” are therefore ambassadors for our country in the most beautiful sense of the word.

As state governor, I can always convince myself of the choir's abilities at a wide variety of events. I therefore congratulate the “Gumpoldskirchner Spatzen” and their management on these great achievements and at the same time wish that artistic work at such a high level continues to be as much fun and successful in the future.

Gemeinde Gumpoldskirchen

The cultural community of Gumpoldskirchen is also called the “singing village at the gates of Vienna”, not least because new choir communities have been formed from the children's choir “Gumpoldskirchner Spatzen” over many generations.

I admire the consistently high level of this choir, which can only be achieved with a lot of hard work and personal ambition. A lot of educational work is carried out here by the choir director Elisabeth Ziegler in addition to musical training. The result is a balanced choir sound and inner joy that spreads to the listener. Music is balm for the soul and a wonderful opportunity for young people to live out their emotions and recognize higher values!

For decades, the “Gumpoldskirchner Spatzen” have carried the name of our wine town all over the world. This fills me with great pride as mayor!

The “Gumpoldskirchner Spatzen” will always be able to count on my support.
